Driving License Category A1
Driving License Category A1 permits you to drive motorized two-wheeled vehicles. It allows you to drive small motorcycles or mopeds with engines with a power output of no more than 11 kW.

Prerequisites
You must be at minimum 16 years old in order to get a driver's license category A1. This license allows you to drive light motorcycles, while categories A2 and A are reserved for larger motor vehicles. You must also complete a first aid course and undergo a theoretical training based on the full syllabus. It is offered by a variety of driving schools. Prices can vary but they all follow the same curriculum.
The training in the practical part is made up of several driving lessons. These lessons run between three and four hours each. The instructors will teach you the fundamentals of your bike and the basic rules of the road. A person who has a category B licence can continue their training for category A1 by using an easier program. However they must pass at least ten theory lessons and ten driving classes in a driving school. This is not an option for those who have an A1 category licence.
Driving License Category A1 can be an ideal alternative for teenagers or adults who are driving but would like to try something different. The restrictions of this type of license are designed to ensure safety for everyone. However, they may be lifted if you prove that you are able to safely operate larger vehicles.
You must have a valid medical certification in addition to your driver's license. Based on your health status, you may need to pass an eye examination or other tests. You can upgrade your license by adding an endorsement. This usually involves passing a knowledge test as well as, sometimes, a skills test.
Training
To get a Driving License category A1, you must pass both the theory and the practical test. You will also have to attend a theory class and receive a course. Theory test
The Driving License Category A1 test is a two part test, which includes both an instructional and practical component. It is designed to give you an understanding of the highway code and driving abilities. You will need to pass both parts to get your licence. You can take the tests either before or after completing the mandatory basic training (CBT).
The theory test portion includes 50 multiple-choice options that you must correctly answer. Once you have passed the theory portion of the test, you can book an appointment for the practical test. You will receive your driving license within two weeks of when you have passed the practical portion of the test. You must show your driving licence every time you are requested. Practical test
The practical test portion of the Driving License Category A1 exam comprises two parts. The first part is the examiner's checking and preparing your motorcycle for driving. You will then perform several tasks in the test site. You will be required to do an angle start, which entails moving off from behind a vehicle that is parked. You can also drive a three-wheel motor vehicle (trike) with this licence provided that it has a capacity for the engine of up to 125 cc and a weight/power ratio that is not greater than 15 kW per kilogram.
Besides the driving test, you must pass an exam for medical reasons before you can get your license. You also need to show proof of a first aid course and pass the vision test. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of your legal guardian or parent to apply for a driver's license.
