Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below outlines reserved time periods, not exams that have been confirmed. It is important to confirm with your teacher whether or not the final exam for a course will be scheduled during this time.

Locations
The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Exam pages for each exam are available for additional guidelines, conditions and guidelines and exam content. If you need special accommodations due to chronic illness, hearing or visual impairment or other limitations Contact the exam center and provide a detailed information when you register.
The Faculty Dashboard in Workday has the option of "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to locate their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a list of exam times for the classes that must have an exam by NYSED regulations. Final exams for evening classes are scheduled during the regular class meeting times of the final exams.

Registration
Students are advised to check the exam schedule online. However it is crucial to note that the exam schedule may be altered at any time. Students should therefore consult their instructors to confirm the correct date and time of their test. Students should also print the official list of questions to bring with them to the exam.
Students should also be familiar with the guidelines and conditions of the exam in addition to the schedule. They are available on the individual exam pages. When they register, students agree that they accept these conditions and terms.
Exam locations make every effort to accommodate participants who have special needs. The nature and extent of these requirements should be declared on the registration and confirmed by a physician's attestation. The locations for the exam must be able to respect confidentiality and keep it.
If a student has three examinations scheduled for the same day it is suggested to contact their department or instructor to arrange an exam to make up. While it is possible to take three exams in one day, it could cause high stress levels and could impact the quality of the test. The instructor may not be able to offer an opportunity to take a makeup test on a different day.
Before taking the exam students must prepare by studying their course material and practice their German skills. The test is a paper-based test which measures the ability to read, speak, and write in German. The results of the exam are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate demonstrates the achievement of language level A1. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free of charge. Students must carry an ID that is valid for government purposes to the examination. Anyone who does not have a valid photo ID are disqualified from the examination.
Fees
If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to obtain the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you'll need to pay the examination fee. This is in addition to the course fee.
Practice tests give you an overview of the format of the questions, their wording and the level of questions on the test. They let you assess your proficiency, identify gaps in your knowledge and increase your chances of passing the test.
Please be aware that the exam fee is non-refundable. Examination results can only be accessed via email and not by telephone.
